I Learned How To Change Tire!

So two days ago I have experienced my first flat tire and I'm telling you what it was scary for me! Good thing that I wasn't alone when it happened and we weren't far away from our house. If I would have been alone, I would not know what to do! But anyway, my mother-in-law told me after I had pulled-over on the side of the road and checked out the flat tire to go back to her house so we can pump it with air which was a very big mistake!!! Another lesson learned, NEVER drive a vehicle with a very flat tire because the outcome could be deadly as what my husband told me after he had seen what happened to the tire after we got back to my mother-in-law's driveway.

Let me just say this, before we drove back to my in-law's driveway, the tire was still intact but after we got to her house, I was really shocked of what happened when you drive a flat tire! I took some pictures of the tire before we change it to the spare tire earlier but I will upload it later. Anyway, the tire didn't look like tire anymore! It had so much holes, some of the rubber burned inside, I mean it was in bad, bad, BAD SHAPE! I couldn't believe that it will do that to the tire by just driving about a mile with it being flat. So my husband told me, never ever drive a car with flat tire! Instead, you pull-over immediately on the side of the road, turn emergency lights on and then try to change the tire with your spare tire, that is, if you know how to do it. See that's what was wrong with that incident, I didn't know how to change a tire nor does my mother-in-law and she's been driving for over 50 years!

So earlier today, before we can even go anywhere to have another tire put on the car, my husband had to replace the damaged tire with the spare tire that we have. I told him that I want to learn how to do it, so he showed me. It was really not that hard, it was just a little scary for me jacking the car because it was making all kinds of noise. And taking off the lug nuts takes a lot of strength because it is put on so tight! Anyway, I was so terrified the jack will pop out from under the car and hit me on the face! But thankfully it didn't happen! Now I know exactly what to do if ever I experience another flat tire again and who knows I might be able to help somebody on the road with a flat tire!
